The relevant regulations of the Police Regulation 1943 have been amended to modernize the recruitment system of Trainee Recruit Constables (TRCs). The height of the male candidate for the post of constable was earlier 5 feet 4 inches.

In addition, from now on, the height of constable candidates should be at least 5 feet 6 inches; In case of chest size, 31 inches should be normal and enlargement should be 33 inches. In the case of female constable candidates, the height was earlier fixed at 1.56 meters or 5 feet 2 inches. The new rules have changed it to 5 feet 4 inches. In case of recruitment notification, advertisement will be published in daily newspaper as well as electronic media and website.
